Connecting together is a natural by-product of the familial relationship created within everyone who expresses saving
faith in christ (see John 1:12-13). Therefore, the activities here at westside are designed to help the
Lord's people get to know, care for, and draw closer to one another. This includes such things as regular
all church gatherings, retreats / camps for all ages, and monthly Communion services.
Committing :
Committing all that we have, do and are to the Lord does not secure our place in heaven, but rather is evidence of the
fact that those who truly know Jesus already are citizens of God's kingdom rather than this world (see
Ephesians 2:8-10). That is why we are constantly working to provide multi-faceted instruction to help everyone
understand how and why to do God's work rather than being satisfied with just watching it. To that end, we will
continue to build more small-group Bible studies to accommodate everyone's busy scedule and to challenge their
spiritual relationship to a higher level.
Caring :
Caring for others in ministry is vital if we hope to create a healthy atmosphere for spiritual growth and please our King
in every way possible (see John 13:34-35; Ephesians 4:11-13; First Thessalonians 5:11; First Peter 4:10). In
keeping with that focus, we have and will continue to create opportunities to help young people and adults alike
discover and minister the gifts God gave them to the benefit of the church and this community. It is our hope that
methods of spiritual service at Westside will eventually become as numerous and varied as God's people.
Celebrating :
Celebrating the lord through worship satisfies God's command for us to honor Him above all things (see Matthew 22:36-37) and
allows us to experience His awesome, life-changing presence whenever we meet. This includes corporately
acknowledging God's greatness and provision through song, prayer, and sacrificial giving, as well as in the
study and application of His word.
Commissioned :
Being commissioned into the world with a message of hope is the result of Jesus' final instructions to Believers
to "make Disciples [followers] of all nations" (see Matthew 28:19-20). Thus, trying to introduce people to the
incredible relationship they can have with our Savior is at the heart of nearly everything we do here at Westside. This
includes creatively participating in worldwide evangelism efforts, as well as local outreaches.
